Crimson Bellied Conures

Description

Crimson-Bellied Conures

(Pyrrhura perlata – aka Crimson-Bellied Parakeet)

Vivid crimson bellies, emerald-green bodies, and blue wing flashes make these Amazon natives pop. They’re energetic, super affectionate, and surprisingly cuddly — they even purr when happy! Unlike their Pyrrhura cousin, the Green-Cheeked Conure, Crimson-Bellieds are noticeably less nippy and more laid-back once bonded. They’re also one of the quieter conures — perfect for apartments or families who want big personality without the noise.

Quick Facts

• Size: 9–10 inches long (with long tail) • 70–90 g (cockatiel-sized but full of energy)

• Lifespan: 20–30 years with good care

Active birds need room to climb and play.

• Minimum cage: 24″W × 24″D × 30″H (bigger is always better)

Green Cheek Conure

Description

Green-Cheeked Conures

(Pyrrhura molinae)

What we’re known for around the world is our Green-Cheeked Conures — we’ve been raising them for decades! People always ask what colors we raise… the answer is everything! The only mutation we’re not working with right now is Ino. I just don’t see the benefit at this time — it basically looks like a really nice Sun Cheek with red eyes. If you’re looking for a Creamino, we highly recommend our friend Manuel Trevino.

These little Amazon natives are packed with personality: bright green bodies, maroon tails, and that signature cheeky spark. They’re energetic, super affectionate, and love to cuddle. Fun Fact: Green-Cheeked Conures are known for their playful “tickle attacks” — they’ll roll onto their backs in your hand and beg for belly rubs like tiny dogs!

Quick Facts

• Size: 10 inches long (with tail) • 60–80 g (one of the smallest conures but full of zip)

• Lifespan: 20–30 years with good care

Cage & Housing

Active and curious, they need room to climb and explore.

• Minimum cage: 24″W × 24″D × 30″H (bigger is always better)

• Bar spacing: ½″–¾″

• Must-haves: Varied perches, foraging toys, swings, and daily out-of-cage time

Blue Throated Conure

Description

Blue-throated Conures

(Pyrrhura cruentata – aka Blue-throated Parakeet)

These rare beauties from Brazil pop with vivid blue throats, emerald-green bodies, and striking markings. They’re gentle, affectionate, highly intelligent, and surprisingly quiet for a conure — perfect for owners who want big personality in a smaller package.

These are Florida state sales ONLY. The Blue throated Conures is what is classified as an ESA bird —  Endangered Species Act.

Fun Fact: Blue-throated Conures are talented mimics! They love copying household sounds and even a few words, turning into little entertainers around the house.

Quick Facts

• Size: 11–12 inches long • ~90 g (one of the larger Pyrrhura conures)

• Lifespan: 20–30 years with good care

Peach Fronted Conure

Description

Peach-fronted Conures

(Eupsittula aurea – aka Peach-fronted Parakeet)

These charming South American birds are famous for their bright peach-colored forehead that gives them their name. With vibrant green bodies, curious minds, and sweet personalities, Peach-fronted Conures are playful, affectionate, and love to interact with their people. The talking abilities are quite good for a small bird too.

Fun Fact: Peach-fronted Conures are known as little comedians — they absolutely love bathing and will happily splash around in their water dish like kids in a pool!
